7.      Ability to Relate to Kids – You are closer age-wise to your students than any other teacher in the building.  You know who the Jonas Brothers are.  You are able to use analogies that students are more likely to understand, because you have more in common with them than older teachers do.  You are a young, successful, intelligent, educated person who has the opportunity to be a great role model.  Use this to your advantage, because you will be the “Old Teacher” sooner than you think!
