The newteacherhelp.com team is pleased to announce the launch of a new website to help administrators with all of the issues that they face while striving to be instructional leaders. The website is called Administrator Alley, and the format of the site will be "Blog Format" until it can be determined which format is best. I chose blog format so that administrators can provide immediate input regarding each of the blog posts contained in the site. This interactive site will begin with discipline issues, but it will expand its scope to address other problems facing administrators as well:
- Teacher evaluations and walkthroughs
- Curriculum & Instruction
- Minimizing interruptions during instructional time
- Student office visits (the step-by-step procedure you should be following)
- Core curriculum vs. electives
- Duty rosters
- Bullying
- Dealing with cliques
- Gangs
- Budgeting school and district resources
- Your school's Code of Conduct
- Utilizing student planners
- Increasing administrator visibility in the building
- Working in cooperation with law enforcement
- Dealing with lawsuits (and avoiding them altogether!)
- Bus issues
- Morning announcements
- Pep rallies & other assemblies
- The Pledge of Allegiance
- Flying the flag
- Conducting emergency drills
- The school board
- Leading people
Administrators are welcome to read and comment on any or all posts on the site. If you want to comment about the contents of the site in a more private fashion, you can email my team at newteacherhelp@yahoo.com
