There is an epidemic affecting millions of children across this country, an affliction that I call “Flickety Slappy-Tap”, or FST. What is FST, you ask? It is caused when kids can’t keep their hands off of each other. They are constantly “flicking”, “slapping”, “tapping”, “poking”, “kicking”, and otherwise aggravating each other.
Why am I making such a big deal out of Flickety Slappy-Tap? Most kids and parents will use the phrase “We were just playing around” as an excuse for FST…as if those five words absolve the students from any responsibility or consequences for their poor behavior. I explain why this is not a satisfactory excuse in the following article, entitled “We Were Just Playing Around”. This article is included in my latest ebook, called “Why Do We Have To Go To School…and The Answers to 99 Other Questions That Students, Parents, & Teachers Ask”. I usually charge money for the article, but I am making it available to you for free because I feel so strongly about this problem that is running rampant in our schools.
