2. Do not post overly personal or revealing pictures or events on your Facebook/MySpace page. In a perfect world, teachers could post whatever they wanted on their page, and no one would care. Unfortunately, you are now a celebrity to a small group of people. This group will stop at nothing to dig up “dirt” on you, and use it to blackmail you into giving them a better grade, or look the other way as they misbehave. Yes, I am aware that we as a society have sunk to a new low…to borrow a phrase, “It is what it is.” You need to protect yourself. There have been several cases of teachers being fired based on content posted on their Facebook page. Don’t be a statistic!
