I can remember driving to school one day during my first year, and knowing that I hadn’t prepared my lesson yet. It was one of the most stressful days of my career! I was scrambling when I got to school, trying to find things to do, figuring out what I was going to say, and printing out activities for the students. Veteran teachers usually can “wing it” if they are unprepared, but I was still going off of a pretty detailed script. Driving to school with a great lesson prepared is a much better feeling!
