9.      Watch your searches – I read a court case recently about a P.E. teacher who found out that someone in the locker room stole $5 from another student.  That teacher would stop at nothing to get the $5 back, including “strip searching” the students to find the money.  Was finding the $5 worth throwing your career away?  If you are in a situation where you are absolutely certain that a student is holding stolen items, illegal drugs, or a weapon…notify the campus security officer or administration.  They know more about searching kids than you do.
