10. The Wanderer – This student constantly is on the go. She has to go back to her locker because she forgot her book. She really, really needs to go to the bathroom (even though class just started ten minutes ago). She feels ill, and must see the nurse immediately. Her 2nd Period teacher told her to go back to her class at the end of the day to pick up her homework assignment. If she doesn’t get a drink of water right now, she may faint from dehydration. Most teachers send her on her way just to get her out of the classroom…but you need to be different. What you can do: Make out five hall passes, and keep them in your desk. The Wanderer can have five hall passes in a semester (you can actually go with more or less than five…I just used five when I was teaching), when the passes are used up…no more wandering! Let The Wanderer’s parents know why you are implementing the plan.
