We
have all read the articles about the school that was “ahead of its time” and
“visionary” because it bought all of its students Palm Pilots to (hopefully)
enhance learning.We later read articles
about the school facing unique problems because of the Palm Pilots.After a period of time, we read about the school’s
study that showed that the use of Palm Pilots did not increase student
achievement.After Palm Pilots, laptop
computers were all the rage, then it was iPods, then cell phones, then iPads…Nevertheless, it has fostered a feeling among
some in the educational community that these technological innovations are a
waste of time and money.
